Encaustic painting

Drum roll please.... After months of attending classes and getting my head around the process, I've completed my first encaustic piece (I did not say masterpiece!) Pigmented wax, fibers, incising, and feathers.

I love it. There is very little control over what the piece looks like - it really does evolve. There were multiple layers that could have stood as a finished piece - I only stopped because it got to be a pain to turn the hot plate off in order to run the hair drier to fuse each layer to the previous.
