Threaded Light: A Tapestry of Souls

I am in love with art again - all tingly end excited about what might be. Encaustic work is so free compared to oil painting where the figurative work gets tedious to the point I put the painting away for weeks on end. Not so with the wax. :-))) Getting a feel for the wax, and how to achieve the desired translucence effects (God, the picture looks so flat next to the real thing).

The texture, translucence, incising, painting... it lends itself perfectly to the image that's been with me for nearly 10 years... and has finally exploded to a visual surface. Each of us is a thread of light which sparks and multiplies it's light with each thread it crosses.

Dropped by Home Depot and bought a real heat gun - no more hair dryer to fuse the layers of wax and have high hopes that this one won't trip the breaker. Also more luan panels, and copper wire for a top secret evolution of the current theme. Was so excited, called Karol, tore her away from a watercolor, in order to share and ended up chatting for over an hour about art and inspiration. Must look up Lenora Carrington's work in color. And latin artist's representation of spiritual subject matter.
