This coastline is one of my favorites. I've returned here more times than any other place in WA. It's not hard to see why! These shots are some of the first images taken from my new 10-22mm lens. A high school friend came up to visit. Being that he's a photographer, we hit all the "money shot" locations possible in a limited amount of time. The skyline is Seattle (one of my favorite shots), the waterfall is at Paradise on Mt. Rainier, the forest is Rainier National Park, and the stump is in a dry lake bed nearby.

Finally took pictures of the new pieces. I'm disappointed in the way the lighting fails to show the pigment depth of the wax, so I'll have to look into setting up some sort of studio lighting. Maybe have one light shining from the top to illuminate the interior layers. The bird piece also looks a little unfinished... something is missing from the right-hand side.

Painting Insight:An order so embedded in life that at first it appears to be chaos. Fluctuations in the DNA sequence and, in time, the butterfly diverges from a flower petal.
